Police Catch Woman Trying To Steal Motorized Scooter From Grocery Store

TROY (WWJ) -- Troy Police caught up with a suspect who rode off with an Amigo motorized scooter, apparently stolen from the Kroger store at W. South Blvd. and Crooks Rd. on Sunday.

Police say the scooter was stolen from the store on around 7:30 p.m. Sunday night. These scooters, usually with a basket, are provided at retail outlets for disabled shoppers.

The woman told police she intended to drive the scooter to Warren, a suburb about 30 minutes away. The scooter was returned to the store. She could face charges.

Police didn't say how fast the scooter was going when they caught up with the suspect.
