Police: 'Bonnie And Clyde' Team Arrested For String Of Oakland County Break-Ins

FERNDALE (WWJ) Police in Ferndale have arrested a "Bonnie and Clyde" team believed to be responsible for a string of house break-ins in Ferndale, Royal Oak and Oak Park.

Lt. Bill Wilson said the man and woman were picked up this morning while trying to break into a home on Vester Street in Ferndale. Wilson says the pair are believed responsible for up to 16 break-ins since February 18th.

"It was mostly some electronics, jewelry and cash, stuff that could be easily picked up, taken out, and probably sold or pawned quickly," Wilson said.

Wilson says the man, who's from Detroit, has been in prison for home break-ins before. The couple are believed to have been stealing to fuel a drug habit.
