Amber Alert Issued For Baby Reportedly Left In Back Seat Of Stolen Car

DETROIT (WWJ) - An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing 3-month-old who was in the back seat of a stolen car around 1 a.m. Monday, according to police.

Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a white 2006 Chevy Impala with the Michigan license plate CPG-8598. The driver's side rear bumper has damage and the trunk does not close completely. The driver's side rear light is broken out and has red tape across it.

According to police the baby's 30-year-old father drove up to a store on Harper and left Dakota Grimes in the running car while he went inside. [Amber Alert]

Dakota is 12 pounds, with brown eyes and was wearing a pink onesie and a coat at the time.

There was no sign of the car or the baby when the father left the store.
