Police Ask For Help Locating Child In Parental Abduction Case

DETROIT (WWJ) - The Detroit Police Department is looking for assistance from the public in locating a missing child from the city's west side.

Zoie Jackson is a five year old girl who was picked-up from school on Burt Road by her mother Carmela Jackson - who does not have custody of Zoie.

Zoie's father is a Detroit police officer.

Mrs. Jackson has been diagnosed with a number of medical conditions including schizophrenia.

Mother and child are believed to be headed out of state - possibly towards Elkhart Indiana. Zoie was last seen wearing a red shirt, black pants and black boots.

She was also carrying a black and pink backpack.

As of Tuesday night an Amber Alert had not been issued.

The mother is said to be driving a black, 2002 Lexus cross over vehicle with license plate #CMR0252.
