CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) -- Police have a man in custody after two suspects were seen robbing three restaurants in three different cities in a 24 hour span.

Clinton Township police Lt. Eric Reinke told WWJ that the man who was seen in security footage was later apprehended on Saturday afternoon.

"We got a couple anonymous tips that he was in the area of Gratiot and Toepfer, which is in Eastpointe," Reinke said. "We contacted Eastpointe, Eastpointe was able to place him in custody after a short foot pursuit."

Police say the man and another suspect are connected to three different robberies -- one at Great Lakes Family Diner in Clinton Township.

"A white male entered the restaurant. When the cashier had opened the till, he had reached in, took a sum of money and fled the store, then got into the van and fled from there," Reinke said.

The other connected robberies occurred at a Tim Hortons in Royal Oak and a Baskin-Robbins in Roseville.

The man is expected to be arraigned on Monday.
