Police Arrest Man After Slow Speed Chase Through Roseville

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - A man who led Roseville police on a slow speed chase, then holed up in a house on Margaret Street for a couple of hours Tuesday, will be arraigned on Wednesday.

Roseville Police Chief James Berlin says it all started when the man was speeding on Hayes, near Frazho.

"Rather than stopping, the driver just kept driving up and down side streets, 20 to 40 miles an hour, not very high-speed but obviously looking for a place to bail from the vehicle - which he eventually did. He jumped from a moving car - leading officers on a chase through several backyards. He then ran into a home on Margaret Street, which we found out later belonged to his girlfriend," said Police Chief Berlin.

Berlin says police finally went into the house and arrested the man, who now faces fleeing, eluding and resisting arrest charges.

He says he's also wanted for several drug violations in Texas.
