Police: Alcohol A Factor In Rollover Crash On I-94 That Killed Warren Man

HARRISON TWP. (WWJ) - Authorities say a Warren man was killed in a rollover crash on I-94 in Macomb County that might have been fueled by alcohol.

The single-vehicle crash happened around 11:20 p.m. Friday on westbound I-94 near Shook Road in Harrison Township.

Witnesses told Sheriff's deputies that a red vehicle had passed them at a very high rate of speed shortly before the crash. Police say the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, causing it to rollover multiple times.

A passenger in the vehicle, Eddie Griffin III, was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver, a 27-year-old Clinton Township man, was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say alcohol appears to be a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
