Police: 2 Young Men Fatally Shot During Apparent Break-In

SPRINGPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - Police say two young men have been fatally shot during an apparent break-in at a home in southern Michigan.

Police in Jackson County's Springport Township say the 18-year-old men were found dead Wednesday near the rural home after officers responded to a call from a resident of the home.

Police say there was an apparent confrontation between the men and an occupant of the home prior to the shooting, The Jackson Citizen Patriot reported. Police Chief Dave Luce identified the men as 18-year-old Jackson residents Matthew Lyle McMillen and Hunter Scott Lentz.

Police say the men didn't live in the home and the circumstances of what led to the shooting are under investigation. No arrests were reported.

Prosecutors are expected to review the case.
