Police: 2 On Motorcycle Dead, 2 Hurt After Pursuit, Crash

DETROIT (AP) - Authorities say two people on a motorcycle are dead and two others in a separate vehicle were injured following a police pursuit and crash in Detroit.

Police say 26-year-old motorcycle rider Gemel Deshawn Brown of East Lansing was spotted exiting a business at a high rate of speed on Sunday evening in front of a state police patrol car and a trooper activated the car's lights and siren to attempt to stop the motorcycle.

Before the trooper could catch up with the motorcycle it crashed into another vehicle.

State police say in a statement that Brown was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and passenger 15-year-old Lakreisha Marie Johnson died after initially being listed in critical condition. The two occupants of the other vehicle had minor injuries.
