Police: 2 Dead In Home; Child Found Crying Outside

LANSING (WWJ/AP) - Police say they discovered the bodies of a man and woman at a Lansing home after finding a 6-year-old outside crying in the neighborhood.

Police responded to the 4100 block of Sheffield, north of I-96 and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, around 1 a.m. Thursday after receiving a report about a crying child wandering around unattended.

Officers arrived on the scene and found the boy uninjured. Officers then went to the boy's home and found a bleeding 43-year-old woman dead on the floor and a 47-year-old man dead inside the garage.

Police believe the man killed his wife before taking his own life. Police say the victims are the boy's parents, but declined to provide their names pending notification of family members.

The child is in protective custody.

Anyone who might have information on the case is urged to contact police at 517-483-6842.
