Plane Makes Emergency Landing Without Deploying Landing Gear

FLINT (WWJ/AP) - No one was injured when a small plane landed without deploying its landing gear in Flint.

The incident happened around 9:50 p.m. Thursday at Bishop International Airport.

The Cessna 310 landed on its belly after the pilot reported a smell of smoke in the cockpit, and said he couldn't get the landing gear down.

The pilot was the only person aboard the plane.

The landing didn't affect other operations at the airport.

Investigators are now trying to determine exactly what went wrong with the plane.
