PJ Masks, Hatchimals Hot Toys As Great Lakes Crossing Fills With Christmas Shopping Starts

AUBURN HILLS (AP) — Black Friday is over and Cyber Monday has come and gone, but many people still filed through Great Lakes Crossing northwest of Detroit to start the first shopping weekend in December.

Lines occasionally were long Friday afternoon at many of the larger discount stores in the indoor outlet mall in Auburn Hills. Some men's clothing stores were far from packed.

Lakita Murphy of Detroit used Friday to collect gifts for her three children. She ended up finding deals for herself including a designer purse. The 34-year-old Murphy was unable to find PJ Masks toys, some of this year's hottest items for children.

Amber Stefan of Flint also searched without success for Hatchimals. The 28-year-old Stefan said she went to several stores and "They're all sold out."
