Woman Killed In Fiery Crash With Suspected Drunk Driver

COMMERCE TWP. (WWJ) - The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash in Commerce Township.

The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. Monday on Pontiac Trail just east of Beck Road.

Police say a 44-year-old Milford Township woman, who was delivering pizzas for Pizza Hut,  was killed when the GMC Jimmy she was driving was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Traverse. The woman's vehicle overturned on impact and burst into flames -- trapping her inside.

She was declared dead at the scene. Her name has not yet been released.

The other driver, a 41-year-old Farmington Hills man, was taken into police custody at the scene on suspicion of drunk driving.

Pontiac Trail was closed for about four hours while police investigated.
