Pigs, Cows And Lamb Killed By Fire At Saginaw County Farm

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- A dozen pigs, three cows and a prize-winning lamb were killed during a fire at a farm in Saginaw County's Richland Township.

The Saginaw News reports Monday that 31 cows were at pasture and survived Saturday evening's blaze southwest of Saginaw.

Township fire Lt. Andrew Morse says a few barns and a shed on the farm caught fire.

He says the lamb was purchased recently at the county fair. A tractor and about 154,000 pounds of hay also were destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
