Pic Of 2016 Chevy Camaro Leaked Ahead Of Belle Isle Event [PHOTO]

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Call it a great big oops, but one of the best-kept secrets in town -- the design of the 2016 Chevy Camaro -- quickly became one of the worst.

During a segment promoting the grand reveal planned for Belle Isle this weekend, CNBC apparently accidentally showed promotional images of the new ride.

The sixth generation Camaro is expected to be unveiled Saturday in front of about 1,000 avid fans.

The 2016 Camaro will go on sale later this year. It will be assembled at General Motors' Lansing Grand River plant.

"This will be an event Camaro fans will not want to miss," Todd Christensen, Camaro marketing manager said on GM's website. "This is only the sixth time we have introduced an all-new Camaro.

"We wanted to share the moment with the customers and fans who have helped make Camaro both America's favorite performance car for the past five years, and a cultural icon since 1967."
