Petition Started To Revoke The Former Bruce Jenner's Olympic Gold Medal

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) While the world seems to have embraced the wonder that is Caitlyn Jenner -- Dennis Rodman, for one, seems to be literally looking for an embrace -- at least one woman isn't having it.

And she's gaining support.

Jennifer Bradford started a petition asking the International Olympic Committee to revoke the 1976 decathlon gold medal from the former Bruce Jenner. Jenner last month revealed to Diane Sawyer she was transgender and came out yesterday on the cover of Vanity Fair as a woman.

"We must now either claim that Bruce Jenner and Caitlyn Jenner are two entirely different people (which we know is not true), or that Bruce Jenner was, in fact, a woman participating in a men's event," Bradford writes in her petition.

With the hashtag #givebackthegold, Bradford goes on spread some love to Jenner, writing "congratulations to Ms. Jenner for her courage!"

More than 2,500 have signed the petition so far. Bradford is seeking 5,000 supporters.

Jenner plans to appear on television for the first time as a woman during the ESPY's, where she will receive the Arthur Ashe Hero award. Many applaud the honor, others feel there were athletes more deserving, including amputee Noah Galloway.

It was later revealed Galloway was not in the running for the ESPY.
