Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle, Critically Injured In Roseville

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - Authorities have shut down a busy intersection in Roseville after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and critically injured.

The accident happened around 5 a.m. Friday on northbound Gratiot Avenue at Masonic.

According to police, a white male in his 20s was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of Gratiot when he was struck by a white SUV.

The man, who was dressed in a white shirt and dark pants, was transported from the scene by Roseville EMS to a local hospital in critical condition. Police say he has not been identified at this time.

The driver stopped at the scene and was questioned by police. Investigators say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The intersection was closed for several hours as police carried out an investigation, but was reopened to traffic just after 8 a.m.

An investigation is ongoing.
