Pedestrian Killed, Hit Crossing 8 Mile In Farmington Hills

FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - A 62-year-old Livonia man died, late Monday night, after he was hit by a car as he was leaving a local bar.

According to Farmington Hills police, the man left Mulligan's Pub and Grub and was struck as he was trying to cross the westbound lanes of 8 Mile at Inkster Road, just before midnight.

Police said the man was taken by EMS from the scene of the crash to Botsford Hospital where he died from his injuries. His name was not immediately released.

The driver, identified as an 18-year-old Livonia man, remained on scene where he cooperated with the investigation, according to police. It was not immediately clear if he would face charges.

Police shut down 8 Mile at that intersection for hours for an accident investigation.
