Oxygen Masks Used As Spirit Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing In Detroit

ROMULUS, Mich. (AP) - Spirit Airlines says a plane bound for Fort Lauderdale, Florida, returned to Detroit Metropolitan Airport after a possible loss of cabin pressure.

Passengers say they put on oxygen masks after the plane seemed to encounter turbulence Friday morning. Travis Goldstein told The Detroit News it felt "like a roller coaster." He says it was tense inside the cabin.

In a statement, Spirit says mechanics are inspecting the plane to determine what caused the problem. The airline offered to put passengers on another flight to Fort Lauderdale.
