Overturned Motor Home Blocks Traffic On I-75

MONROE (WWJ) - Officials have reopened a portion of I-75 in Monroe County after a major accident.

The accident happened around 7:15 a.m. Saturday on southbound I-75 at Bay Creek Road, just past the exit for Erie Road.

Two vehicles were involved, although circumstances surrounding the incident weren't immediately clear.

"An overturned motor home was across all lanes of the freeway, completely blocking traffic," said WWJ Traffic Reporter Marty Bufalini.

The freeway was closed for just over two hours while crews cleared the scene.

Accidents have been reported across the metro Detroit region Saturday morning, including on the southbound I-275 ramp to I-94, westbound I-96 after Wixom Road, westbound I-94 At US-23, westbound I-696 after Dequindre, westbound I-94 at Michigan Avenue, westbound  I-94 after Greenfield, and westbound  I-94 at Ecorse Road.
