Online Alcohol Delivery Service Comes To Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR (WWJ/AP) - An online service offering delivery of beer, wine, liquor and even cups for drinks is taking orders in Ann Arbor, home to the University of Michigan.

Customers can log onto the DrinkDrivers.com website or use the DrinkDrivers mobile app to place orders for alcohol, mixers and cups. The service started last year around the University of Central Florida and is making Ann Arbor its second launch location, The Ann Arbor News reported.

Co-founder Jeff Nadel says he partners with local distributors and his company processes the online orders. Under the system, the customer's age is verified online and delivery takes place within 30 to 60 minutes. Age also is verified at the delivery location.

Nadel says the service follows Michigan's alcohol regulations and could help prevent drinking and driving.
