One man dead after three-vehicle crash on Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Township
One man is dead following a three-vehicle crash on northbound Telegraph Road near Long Lake Road in Bloomfield Township on Wednesday.
Bloomfield Township police said an officer observed a maroon Ford Explorer around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, driving erratically, crossing lanes and driving on the median.
Police attempted to stop the Explorer, but said the vehicle continued northbound, striking several vehicles and finally a large box truck before stopping at Hickory Grove.
The driver of the Explorer, a 70-year-old Detroit man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe the driver may have been experiencing a medical emergency before and during the crash.
The drivers of the other vehicles were not injured.
Police immediately shut down Telegraph at Long Lake and began diverting traffic.
The road was closed for several hours Wednesday, but has since reopened.
