DETROIT (AP) - Updates on street construction tied to the Detroit light rail project will be available to businesses and residents at a community meeting.

The M-1 RAIL will host its November Community Advisory Council meeting Thursday evening at St. John's Episcopal Church on Woodward Avenue in Detroit.

Construction has been taking place along the Woodward Corridor.

The $140 million project is expected to start running in 2016. The 6.6-mile roundtrip route will extend from the downtown riverfront to Detroit's New Center Area.

Business updates also will be given at Thursday's meeting. A discussion will be held about a regional transit master plan draft.
