Officials ID Monroe Man Who Died In Snowmobile Accident

TUSCARORA TWP., Mich. (WWJ/AP) - A 37-year-old Monroe man who died in a snowmobile accident in Cheboygan County has been identified.

Authorities say Daniel Cerrone, an Air Force veteran, was killed early Saturday morning along the Gaylord to Mackinaw City Railroad Trail System in Tuscarora Township.

Police say Cerrone's snowmobile apparently went off the trail and hit several trees. He was found less than two miles south of a road near the Indian River, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have said speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the fatal crash, WPBN-TV reported.

Meantime, visitation for Cerrone is scheduled for 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Bacarella Funeral Home on S. Telegraph Road in Monroe. He leaves behind his wife Iren and two children, Nickolas and Marina.
