Offering Hope: 'My Sister Song' Project Reaches Out To Hundreds Of Women

DETROIT (WWJ) - Valentine's Day came early for hundreds of dancers throughout metro Detroit strip clubs as members of a local outreach group hand out care packages at 20 local establishments.

Founder and Director of My Sister Song, Laura Urenda, says the gift bags are filled with hope.

"We have these lovely little gift bags full of fun, girly things and they contain a contact card - when the girls are ready to get them connected to any number of classes and counseling and care groups, and mentoring and care groups of a variety," said Urenda.

This Valentines outreach is the first of five planned this year. Since its beginning in 2009, My Sister Song has helped over 7,000 women change their lives.
