Off-Duty Security Guard Charged With Assault After Shots Fired In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - A Highland Park woman was wearing her security guard uniform but wasn't on the job when prosecutors say she threatened two people with a gun and fired.

Ebonie R. Dixson, 32, was arrested Wednesday and charged in connection with the non-fatal shooting at a home in the 17800 block of Fleming in Detroit.

According to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, Dixon — along with her 28-year-old brother — was removing some personal belongings from the house on the evening of Sept. 20 when she got into an argument with a 27-year-old woman who lived in the home.

Prosecutors say Dixon, who works as a security guard, then drew her weapon from its holster and pointed it at her brother and then woman. She then allegedly fired three shots into the air.

No one was hurt and Dixon fled the scene.

She was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on two counts of felonious assault and one count of felony firearm in 36th District Court.
