Off-Duty Deputy Escapes Drive-By Shooting In Detroit Unscathed

DETROIT (WWJ) - An off-duty Wayne County Sheriff's Deputy had a very close call while driving on Detroit's west side.

Officials say the deputy was driving on the Lodge Freeway service drive near Wyoming Avenue around 5:15 a.m. Friday when multiple shots were fired at him from another vehicle.

The off-duty deputy was not hit and is uninjured.

Authorities say the only description of the suspects is that they were in a dark-colored vehicle.
