Oakland County Man Falls To Death While Working On Chimney

ADDISON TWP. (WWJ/AP) - Authorities in Oakland County say a man was killed when a piece of lifting equipment flipped over as he was working on a chimney.

The accident happened Wednesday afternoon in Addison Township, about 35 miles north of Detroit.

The Oakland County sheriff's department said the 40-year-old Washington Township man was working from a scissor lift and was trying to move the equipment on sloped ground when it overturned.

The man fell about three stories to the ground. His name wasn't immediately released.

The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death.
