Oakland County Airport Hosting Annual Open House, Air Show

WATERFORD TWP. (WWJ/AP) - The Oakland County International Airport's 30th annual Open House & Air Show takes place this weekend.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23 at the airport in Waterford Township.

Planes for the event include the Ford Tri-Motor, known as the "Tin Goose." The plane was first produced by auto industry pioneer Henry Ford in 1925.

The World Heritage Aviation Museum, which started in Detroit and recently set up at Oakland County International Airport, is involved in the event.

The event is free to attend, with a $5 parking fee per car. There's an additional fee for airplane and helicopter rides.
