Nutro Dog Treats Sold At PetSmart Recalled Due To Mold In Packaging

DETROIT (WWJ) – If you're a pet parent who shops at PetSmart, you'll want to pay attention to this recall.

Mars Petcare is recalling 4 oz. packages of its Nutro Chewy Apple Dog Treats because of a potential mold problem.

The recalled product has a UPC code "7910511344" and lots codes beginning with "4 50," "5 02," "5 03," or "5 05" -- regardless of best by date. The lot code can be found on the bottom of the package.

PetSmart, one of the distributors, is urging customers to stop feeding the product to their pets.

Customers who have the recalled product can either throw the treats away, or bring the unused portion to a local PetSmart store for a full refund.
