No Suspects After Man Fatally Shot On Detroit's Northwest Side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are investigating a fatal shooting on the city's northwest side.

Officer Shanelle Williams says a man was shot and killed around 3:15 p.m. Thursday on Northlawn Street.

She talked to WWJ Newsradio 950 about what police know so far.

"The male victim, 25, was over in the area visiting a friend when he received a call to come outside, possibly to meet a ride," Williams said. "Within minutes shots were fired, and the victim was observed outside, lying on the ground."

There have been no arrests, are no suspects, and police aren't talking about a possible motile.

William said the only lead is that someone spotted a two-tone gray minivan traveling south on Northlawn and then heading east on Midland Street shortly after the shooting.

The victim's name was not immediately released.
