Nicole Curtis Of HGTV Berates Mother In Court

DETROIT (WWJ) - It wasn't a distressed house but a distressing domestic situation for HGTV star Nicole Curtis -- as she appeared in a Michigan courtroom Wednesday afternoon.

The star of HGTV's Rehab Addict was asking an Oakland County judge to dismiss her mother's request for a personal protection order (PPO) against her.

Joan Curtis blamed her daughter for threatening phone calls and texts and said Curtis would have friends call her after she blocked her number. Nicole Curtis claimed her mother had also harassed her by phone.

In an uncomfortable exchange of personal family matters surrounding the death of Curtis' grandmother; Nicole tells her mother and the court that she was the only family member with her grandmother when she died and goes on to say that she was the one who had to pick out flowers and dress her grandmother in preparation for her funeral.

After the hearing in which her mother called Nicole "mean and nasty," Judge Lisa Langton denied the request for the PPO against the reality star.
