The Detroit Tigers traded their closer, Joakim Soria, to the Pittsburgh Pirates last week in exchange for Double-A prospect JaCoby Jones.

The first thought that went through plenty of minds was, "who"?

Jones made himself known on Sunday afternoon. He hit three home runs for the Double-A Erie Seawolves.

The 23-year-old Jones played his college ball at LSU. The 6-2, 202 lbs. shortstop is ranked as the 12th-best prospect in the Pirates organization by MLB.com. The Richton, Mississippi, native was originally selected by Pittsburgh in the third round of the June 2013 Draft.
