New Round Of Snow Has Salt Trucks Out In Full-Force

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's been a taxing winter for county road crews.

In Wayne County, the Department of Public Services has issued a full-staff call-in, meaning all 95 salt trucks are out on the roads.

"It's been the worst winter in quite a while, obviously we haven't had much of a break since Christmas - we've had a few days off here and there," said Dingell. "The snow seems to happen on over-time and double-time, nights, evenings excerta. So it is a little taxing on our budget but so far we are doing okay," said Dingell.

The Department's Cindy Dingell says the staff is tired and the equipment is tired.

On the bright side,  Dingell says that they are becoming more skillful in the way they handle each snowfall.
