The potential change of the Detroit Pistons logo has made for quite a drama over the past month.

Now, a new retro logo that leaked on the internet in early May has resurfaced on the 2016 Pistons Draft Hat. The hat is currently listed as "Out of Stock" on the official NBA Store website.

However, on the Lids website the same hat is featured with the Pistons' current primary logo.

The Pistons bluntly denied the notion that the team will be getting a new primary logo for next season after renders showing a return of the "Bad Boys" era logo with an updated font were leaked on May 5.

Pistons Vice President of Public Relations Kevin Grigg went as far as to call the leaks "erroneous."

"We're not changing our logo next season, that was a leaked erroneous report," Grigg told 97.1 The Ticket's Evan Jankens.

Chris Creamer and SportsLogos.net are generally pretty reliable when it comes to getting the latest logo and jersey news correct, but had to issue a correction after Grigg denied the change.

Jankens spoke with Grigg again after the draft hat was leaked on Friday and he said that the marketing team hasn't seen the draft hats, but that the retro logo has been used for promotional purposes. He said that the team's primary logo will not be changed.
