New iPad Information Leaked Prior To Press Event

By Edward Cardenas

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - Apple may have stolen its own thunder by accidentally releasing specifications about the new iPads online hours before today's press event.

Blog 9to5Mac posted a story Wednesday stating that Apple posted screenshots of the user guide for the iOS 8.1 iPad in the Apple iTunes Store.

The screenshots included images of the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3, which are both expected to be unveiled later today at an Apple press event in California.

According to the screenshots posted on the blog, the tablets have a similar design to the previous versions of the iPads, and will include the Touch ID sensor in the Home button. The report also stated that there is a Burst mode for the camera in the iPad Air 2.

The images were only posted for about an hour before they were removed, the blog reported.
