Names Released In Double-Fatal Michigan Cement Mixer Crash

COLFAX TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - Authorities in Michigan's Thumb region have released the names of two people who died when a cement mixer crashed into a Ford Ranger pickup truck.

The victims in the pickup were 24-year-old Chris Whisenant of Deford and 19-year-old Audrie Dorsch of Elkton — both were passengers  — according to officials.

The crash occurred late Thursday morning at the intersection of Pinnebog and Richardson roads in Huron County's Colfax Township, in the state's Thumb region.

The sheriff's office says the driver of the pickup, traveling eastbound on Richardwon, didn't yield and pulled into the path of the loaded cement mixer, heading northbond on Pinnebog.

The pickup driver, 23-year-old Andrew Trinity of Walled Lake, remained at a Saginaw hospital on Friday.

The mixer driver, a 45-year-old Sebewaing man, wasn't hurt.
