Murder Charge Filed In Road Rage Death Of Michigan Man

CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A prosecutor says a teenager now faces a second-degree murder charge in what police are calling the road rage death of a 64-year-old western Michigan man.

Kent County Prosecutor William Forsyth told WZZM-TV Monday the charge has been filed against 18-year-old Christian Hillman in the Oct. 31 death of William "Andy" McFarlan of Caledonia. McFarlan died after being in hospice care with a severe brain injury since shortly after the Sept. 29 attack outside Grand Rapids.

Hillman's being held on $100,000 bond. It's not clear whether he has an attorney.

During a court hearing last month, a witness testified about seeing Hillman kicking McFarlan while the victim lay on the ground outside his pickup truck.

Hillman has said he acted in self-defense after McFarlan grabbed his neck.
