Massive Pothole Blamed For Multiple Flat Tires On I-75 In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Drivers have been dodging a disastrous pothole problem on I-75 over the Rouge River Bridge in southwest Detroit.

Reporting from along southbound I-75, just north of Sprinwells, Monday morning, WWJ's Vickie Thomas said freeze-thaw cycle over the last few days brought chunks of concrete and patchwork popping up, creating some pretty massive potholes.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) closed down the two right lanes there to allow a patching crew room to work.

"So far today we've had about six cars our here with flat tires," said Doug Davis, with MDOT's Courtesy Patrol. "There's one big pothole and a lot of little ones out here."
