MSU Student Found Dead In Off-Campus Apartment

EAST LANSING (WWJ) - East Lansing police are investigating the death of a Michigan State University student.

Police responded to a 911 call to Anthony Hawley's off-campus apartment, in the 500-block of N. Hagadorn Road, where they found him unresponsive —with a roommate trying in vain to resuscitate him.

The 21-year-old Bloomfield Hills native was taken to Sparrow Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police don't suspect foul play, but they do suspect drugs played a part in Hawley's death. A full autopsy and toxicology report will be performed.

This marks the sixth Michigan State student to have died since the school year started in August.
