CBS DETROIT - Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis announced in a press release Wednesday that the Spartans have agreed to a home-and-home series with BYU.

The teams will play Oct. 8, 2016, at Michigan State and Sept. 12, 2020, at BYU. The meeting at Spartan Stadium will be the first ever between the programs.

Other upcoming nonconference series of note include Arizona State (2018-19), Miami (2020-21) and Boise State (2022-23). Michigan State has also booked more dates with Notre Dame (2016-17, 2023, 2026-27).

"We continue to be aggressive and innovative in our approach to non-conference scheduling, as we seek to bring the top programs in college football to our state as well as provide our student-athletes with an opportunity to compete nationally at the highest level," Hollis stated in the press release.

The Spartans have enjoyed unprecedented success during the tenure of current head coach Mark Dantonio, winning at least 11 games in four of their last five seasons.
