DETROIT (AP) — Cassius Winston is Mr. Basketball.

The award honoring Michigan's top senior basketball player was announced Monday by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan and the Detroit Free Press.

Winston averages 22.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists.

The 6-foot guard from University of Detroit Jesuit is the second straight Mr. Basketball award winner to sign with Michigan State and the fifth since 2009. Muskegon's Deyonta Davis won the award last year.

He was followed in Mr. Basketball voting by Onsted's Austin Davis of Onsted, Spencer Littleson of Rochester Adams, Ypsilanti's Corey Allen and Karmari Newman of Detroit East English.
