Rollover Crash On M-29 Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured

ST. CLAIR TWP. (WWJ) - Authorities say one person was killed and another was seriously injured in a rollover accident in St. Clair County.

The accident happened just before 6 a.m. Tuesday on M-29 at Yankee Road in East China Township.

According to police, a 61-year-old Port Huron man was heading southbound on M-29 in a Dodge Ram pickup when he crossed the centerline of the road and struck a northbound-traveling Ford Taurus, driven by a 23-year-old East China Township man.

Police say the younger man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

M-29 was closed to traffic for about three hours as police investigated, but has since reopened.

Names of those involved have not yet been released.

The accident remains under investigation.
