Motorcyclist Shot, Crashes While Driving On Lodge Freeway

DETROIT (WWJ) - Michigan State Police are investigating a shooting on the Lodge Freeway that left a motorcyclist hospitalized with injuries.

The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday on northbound M-1 near Warren in Detroit closing the freeway for over four hours.

Police say the motorcyclist crashed after being shot.

The victim is currently in stable condition.

Investigators do not think the shooting was a random incident.

Detectives are asking that anyone that may have witnessed any incident involving a motorcycle, both on the Lodge freeway or in the area off the freeway, to please contact Michigan State Police at 855 MICH-TIP.
