Motorcyclist Killed In Crash On Detroit's West Side, Other Driver In Critical Condition

DETROIT (WWJ) - A motorcyclist is dead and another driver is clinging to life after a collision on Detroit's west side.

The accident happened just after 2 a.m. Saturday on Michigan Avenue and Larkins Street, in a neighborhood near I-94 and Livernois Avenue.

According to reports, a vehicle was traveling westbound on Michigan Avenue when the driver apparently turned in front of the motorcyclist, who was headed eastbound, causing a collision.

The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene. His name was not immediately released.

The driver of the vehicle, a woman, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Another passenger in her vehicle was also transported to a hospital, although their condition is unknown.

The road was closed for about four hours while police investigated but has since reopened.
