Motorcycle Rider, Horse Hurt In Saginaw County Crash

ST. CHARLES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A motorcyclist struck a horse on a Saginaw County roadway.

Authorities say both the motorcycle rider and the animal suffered minor injuries.

The Saginaw News reports county sheriff's deputies were called to the scene along M-52 in St. Charles Township after 6 a.m. Monday.

Sheriff's Lt. Randy Pfau says the motorcyclist hit the horse as it crossed the road.

According to WSGW-AM, the motorcycle rider was taken to an area hospital for treatment. A veterinarian checked the horse and said its injuries were not serious.

Pfau is asking anyone with information about the horse's owner to call the sheriff's department.
