Motor City Match Awarding $500,000 To 10 Grant Winners

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan describes Motor City Match as his administration's next big thing.

Ten grant winners will share in $500,000 as part of the program. Ninety others will get technical assistance.

"We've started to place the signs on buildings that say 'This is a preferred location' so we picked approximately 30 buildings that are ready to go for a new business start-up and so that was the other piece of the match is we are picking locations, we're picking businesses and we are matching them to each other," said Duggan.

Winners will be announced on Tuesday; the grant will be awarded quarterly.
