CBS DETROIT - Because of a power outage in the downtown area, the Detroit Red Wings had to cancel their morning skate Tuesday in advance of a game against the Florida Panthers, according to multiple reports.
The loss of power marks the second such incident at Joe Louis Arena in the span of 72 hours. The arena lost power Sunday less than a minute into the game between the Red Wings and the Vancouver Canucks. The game was suspended until the power was restored.

97.1 The Ticket host Terry Foster had a humorous take on the situation, tweeting in reference to the lack of power and to the fact the Detroit Lions recently hosted a home game for the Buffalo Bills because of extreme amounts of snow in Buffalo.
"The power is out in downtown Detroit," Foster tweeted. "I nominate Indianapolis for Sunday's Lions game against Tampa Bay."
