More People Celebrating The Holiday By Hitting The Road

DETROIT (WWJ) - Hitting the road for the Fourth of July?

AAA Michigan expects a two and a half percent increase in travel over the Independence Day weekend - with more than a million of the 1.3 Michiganders travelling by car.

Nationally, 35 million plan to pile the family into the car this weekend, that's the highest number since 2007.

AAA Michigan calls the holiday weekend this year a 'travel trifecta.'

School is out - the weather is warmer and days are longer.

Plus, July 4th holiday falls on a Friday.
