ROMULUS (WWJ/AP) - For the second day in a row, wintry weather is causing flight cancellations and delays at Detroit Metro Airport.

In the 7 a.m. hour alone on Tuesday, eight flights were delayed and seven others were cancelled. During the 8 a.m. hour, nearly 20 flights are delayed.

Many of the issues are at Chicago's O'Hare Airport, where 200 flights have been cancelled. Airport administrators say travelers should check their flight status ahead of time to avoid being caught off-guard.

Across the country, more than 600 flights have been cancelled and 319 have been delayed due to the large storm system that has moved on to the East Coast.

That's down significantly from Monday evening, when about 7,600 flights were affected due to weather.
